On 25–26 May 2026, the annual meeting of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (CACT) of the RAEGE project (Atlantic Network of Geodynamic and Space Stations) was held at the University of Alicante.
The objective of the committee is to assess the status and performance of the RAEGE network and to provide strategic and technical recommendations for its future development. It is composed of national and international experts from different institutions, enabling an independent and multidisciplinary perspective.
The meeting included an open session in which the latest progress in the space geodesy techniques involved in the project (VLBI, SLR, GNSS and gravimetry) was presented, highlighting the quality of the results, technical improvements and new research lines, as well as the status of the stations that make up the network (Yebes, Guadalajara, Spain; Santa Maria, Azores; Gran Canaria, Spain; and Flores, Azores).
During the closed session, the need to strengthen human resources, promote training and move towards greater scientific exploitation of the data was emphasized. The importance of international collaboration and funding to ensure the long-term sustainability of the infrastructure was also highlighted.
