RAEGE attends GGOS Days 2026 in Gävle (Sweden)

A representation of RAEGE took part in the GGOS Days 2026, held in Gävle (Sweden) from 5 to 7 October. The meeting was hosted by Lantmäteriet, the Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authority, in a hybrid format. Each year, the GGOS Executive Committee organises the GGOS Days to update the IAG and GGOS communities on recent achievements and current challenges. The meeting was an opportunity to follow the progress of the Global Geodetic Observing System and to exchange views with colleagues from the geodetic community on the infrastructure and products needed to maintain accurate reference frames and Earth orientation parameters.

Dr. José A. López Pérez attended in his role of RAEGE Director and IVS Technology Coordinator, and Mrs. Esther Azcue attended in her role of GGOS IberAtlantic President . The presence of RAEGE at these meetings helps keep the network connected with the international VLBI and geodesy community and ensures that the needs and plans of its stations in Yebes, Santa Maria, Gran Canaria and Flores are taken into account in the discussions on the future of geodetic observing systems. On 8 October, Dr. López-Pérez also took part in the meeting of the IVS Directing Board, which is the governance body of the IVS.
